How we create guides

Accuracy matters more than a longer article.

Our purpose is to help readers understand a real problem, act safely and evaluate equipment without confusing marketing claims with evidence.

Evidence and sourcing

We prioritize government drinking-water guidance, technical manufacturer documentation, recognized standards and clearly identified third-party references. We explain when a conclusion is conditional on local water chemistry or system design.

Reviews and product claims

We do not present manufacturer specifications as hands-on tests. We clearly distinguish technical comparison, desk research and firsthand testing if independent testing is actually completed and documented.

Corrections and updates

When equipment specifications, safety guidance or source material changes, we aim to revise affected pages and correct errors. Publication and update dates should be visible on individual articles.

Commercial independence

Some pages may include affiliate links, but compensation does not change the technical safety requirements or justify recommending an unsuitable product.

Important limits: This site cannot test your home’s water remotely, inspect electrical equipment or replace a licensed local professional. For private drinking-water safety, appropriate laboratory testing and local public-health guidance take priority.
